My signature online intuitive painting class Painting With Fire begins in a week. And many people have happily signed up in eager preparation for a 6 week deep dive into their sacred creative being through the intuitive painting process.
But there are still quite a few folks thinking about the class and wondering if this class is for them.
So I thought I would take a few moments to answer some common concerns by addressing a different aspect of this class every day for the next week.
Another big concern that comes up for folks around taking the Painting With Fire
class has to do with time. The class is intended to work in ANYONE’S schedule and will help you develop a consistent creative practice through being asked to paint for a minimum of 15 minutes a day.
My hope is that by the end of the 6 weeks you will have developed your creative muscle enough so that the daily practice simply becomes a part of your ongoing creative routine.
But people are always asking me how they can possibly fit this class… and their creative practice… into an already full and often overly busy life. They are worried that they just won’t have the time to devote to making art for themselves.
My response to that question is that the issue is generally not about finding time but making time. Again, it’s important to remember that the goal is to only paint for 15 minutes a day. Which is hardly any time at all.
Taking this class means you are actively choosing to make a commitment to put yourself and your creative needs first. To value your creativity enough that you are willing to say no to only one or two things in your life that are known energy leaks that drain you so that you can do something that reliably feeds and energizes you.
The class is designed to help you look at long standing issues like your habitual and often unconscious resistance to making your creative life a priority. And will also encourage you to investigate why breaking free from that resistance might be challenging for you. It will help you to release the ancient pattern of creative deprivation and the longstanding and utterly convincing belief that you simply can’t give this precious gift of creative time to yourself.
So if you are ready to liberate yourself from the bondage of creative scarcity and stop the cycle of starving your precious artist self, this class is for you.
