I grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s in a household where women were assumed to be second class citizens and misogyny was like a poison gas that tainted every breath I took.

And I was still in high school during the height of Second Wave Feminism and I got my first credit card in 1976 not long after it became legal for single women to have their own credit card accounts.

So the Women’s Liberation Movement was an incredibly meaningful and powerful awakening for me and informed and influenced my sense of myself on the deepest levels. I became an ardent and unapologetic feminist from day one and have worn that badge proudly for the last 50 years.

I spent a long time healing from those patriarchal wounds to my confidence, self esteem and sense of value. One of the biggest wounds was to my intellect. I got the message loud and clear that women were just not that intelligent and had nothing useful to think or say.

And I have devoted my life to proving that premise to be all KINDS of bullshit wrong. I went to graduate school and got a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling … the first and ONLY member of my large family to get more than a Bachelors Degree… and then in 2007 I started my blog and began FURIOUSLY writing about all kinds of things and discovered that I not only had PLENTY to say, but that a lot of people were interested in my thoughts and ideas.

I’ve written a lot about art, creativity, intuition, feelings and emotions and the how all of those things are essential to healing from the patriarchal culture that continues to poison us all.

And because most (not all) of the people that I work with are women, and I identify as a woman, I’ve been passionately devoted to finding ways to support women to reconnect with their gifts and talents, brilliance and capabilities, and to confidently be and express the fulness of who they are in every aspect of their lives. Because, just like me, that confidence has been so consistently undermined and damaged by the misogynistic culture we live in as a way to keep women from owning their natural power and the freedom to create the lives that work best for them. No matter WHAT anyone else thinks or believes.

Over the years I’ve developed a number of different classes, workshops, retreats and training programs that are designed to help ANYONE claim their true creative nature.
