The Desert

She is a living being

Undulating at the speed of primordial mystery

Ancient secrets hidden in folds of sand

Silent and windswept

Open and unrevealed

Unabashed in her nakedness

She calls me into a spaciousness

Both terrifying and holy

Alien and once again home.
