Art Every Day #10-Sacred Space and Sacred Solitude

by | Nov 10, 2010 | Articles | 5 comments

I‘m at a retreat center in the Napa Valley Wine country of Northern California called Mountain Home Ranch where I’m facilitating my 3rd Wild Heart Expressive Arts Teacher Training Program.

So one of the things I am creating is the program itself. It’s really fabulous to be here with these amazing courageous women who have taken on the goal of learning how to become expressive arts/intuitive painting teachers. They have come from all over the country and have jumped into the process with open hearts and both feet!!

Part of my ongoing art process is creating the sacred space and container for this deep work to occur. But I am also feeling very inspired by them to be doing my own personal creative work while I’m here.

So one thing I did was whip out my camera and take some shots around the ranch. It was a beautiful, gray and drizzly day and this photo was taken on the back porch right off of the room where I’m staying.

I love the sense of space and peace and solitude that I feel when I look at this image… and that I feel being immersed in this process.

My son and his Dad attended a retreat there as well.
No better place to experience Presence.
