Bridging The Visible & Invisible Worlds
with
Chris Zydel and Françoise Bourzat
There is something inside all of us that is hungry to explore the unknown realms of our souls and psyches.
We know on some very deep level that we are much bigger and contain more magic and mystery than our daily lives of taking care of business allows us to experience.
And without regular opportunities to dive into those altered states of mystical otherworldliness, where we can be nourished by the truth of our divine nature and connection to our creative source, we become parched and withered. Dried up like an old bone. Cranky and crabby. Dissatisfied and unfulfilled without really knowing why.
And ultimately disconnected from the joyfully, ecstatic sense of wonder and openness to the worlds wild beauty that is our birthright.
We crave the extraordinary.
We are pioneers, always searching for the edge of the frontier, carving new territories outside as well as inside of our selves.
Exploring the vastness of our mind’s potential is thrilling. Experiencing the intrinsic movement of energy in our physical systems is profoundly healing. Touching the everlasting flow of spiritual transcendence is exquisite. Perhaps in the explorations of our inner worlds, we have encountered the holy grail; the inner eternity of our Spirit and our infinite belonging to the unspeakable unity of life.
There are a number of different spiritual practices that encourage us to answer this call to adventure by opening the secret portals that allow us to step into the rich territory of those invisible interior landscapes that are in many ways our truest home.
One of these practices is the intuitive painting process which uses the non-verbal language of image, shape and color to awaken you to the luminosity and vastness of your essential self through authentic and unvarnished creative self expression.
Another set of very ancient liberation practices is Shamanism, which is rooted in centuries of earth-based wisdom. These potent rituals and time honored methods offer many theories and techniques that emphasize expanded and altered states of consciousness as a central tool to attain balance in the totality of the psyche and wholeness in life. In these shamanic traditions, the guided journey to our inner worlds is always accompanied with a preparation before the experience and an integration afterwards.
Chris Zydel and Francoise Bourzat have devoted their professional and personal lives to understanding and teaching these respective practices of inner freedom, healing insight and spiritual growth to hundreds of people over the past 30 years. They are both highly experienced at creating safe and sacred containers that allow natural processes of change to unfold as well as being compassionate guides on the wisdom path to inner knowledge and radiant healing.
And have found that bringing intuitive art and shamanism together as a two-pronged practice adds a depth and a richness to both that invites your being to step into a delicious, life affirming experience of opening and awakening to your full creative and spiritual potential.
What You Can Expect From The Workshop…

You will get to hang out in an honest to goodness painting studio filled to the rafters with more gorgeous eye-popping paint colors and reams of paper and buckets of brushes than you will know what to do with.
I am a firm believer in abundance of art supplies!
You will have TONS of uninterrupted time to just paint. And Play. And Create.
You will get recharged and rejuvenated by diving into the bottomless well of your own creative and spiritual source. And supported to reclaim your personal courage to take risks, get bigger and be yourself. All the while being inspired by the courageous energy of your fellow creative travelers.
You will get back in touch with your wildly creative spontaneously expressive self. That place inside of you where you get to feel free. And joyful. And alive .
You will develop greater trust in your intuition, your inner guidance and your authenticity be learning to let go of your allegiance to those pesky inner voices of judgment and criticism and allowing your deeper intuitive wisdom to run the show.

You will get a chance to slow down and step out of the madness of your daily life for a few days. You will find that place of deep quiet, delicious inner relaxation and the opportunity to rest, truly rest, your tired bones, aching heart and busy mind.
You will get to be part of a fabulous circle of creative folks who are all there for the same purpose, which is to become more conscious and self loving and compassionate through engaging with their creative process.
And you don’t need to have any art experience at all to gain value from this process.
This is about learning to trust in your own authentic, individual, unique and unvarnished creative expression.
For thousands of years, humans have been using a variety of methods to awaken to their true nature of passionate presence, loving kindness and shining brilliance. The power of sound and its capacity to transmit energy are part of the ancient healing toolbox within many shamanic lineages.
During the workshop, you will be exposed to various shamanic techniques such as being guided into sacred inner journey space through being surrounded by a veritable symphony of sound-making tools like drums, rattles, didgeridoos, singing bowls and the specific vibrational field that can only be experienced by hearing the chanting and singing of the human voice.
The sounds and the songs of this inner journey will gently affect your body-mind and you will be able to experience an altered state of consciousness in a safe and supported context.
We will also be leading you through various creative and healing processes like communing with the natural world by creating a sculpture made of found objects in honor of the elements and spirits of the land, moving our bodies to music both inner and outer and creating a community of joyful support where we are encouraged to listen deeply to our own creative muse and deep shamanic wisdom.
In addition to the workshop itself, you will be completely looked after. You will be fed fabulous, healthy gourmet meals that you don’t have to cook and you won’t have to clean up or even make your bed if you don’t want to. And you certainly won’t have to take care of anyone else.
This weekend is all about YOU focusing on YOU!

Francoise Bourzat
Therapist and Instructor
I am Francoise Bourzat and I was born in France. I was raised with both the farm life and the Parisian culture in my bloodlines. I resonate with the art and culture as deep as with the plants and the seasons.
I traveled early to discover magic and realness everywhere, including South America and Asia and studied psychology in Paris while being a dancer in a modern dance company.
I moved to California in 1981, studied several forms of dance and body healing arts and became a bodyworker. After earning a Masters Degree in Somatic Psychology unifying touch, movement, expressive arts and mindfulness (New College of California, 1990), I received my Certification as a Hakomi Mind/Body Therapist in 1991 from the Hakomi Institute of San Francisco.
I pursued personal healing and growth while being engaged in shamanic explorations from 1987 onward and apprenticed under the masterful guidance of medicine men and women. I continue to explore the path of sacred plants healing through my travels abroad as a guide as well as a student.
In the last thirteen years I have traveled with groups to Mexico, incorporating my counseling practice experience with expanded states of consciousness. I also lead workshops in The U.S., France, England and Israel.
