I feel deeply honored to be participating in this beautiful offering with some of the most heart centered, gorgeously creative people I know.
And I have one spot to give away!
Body As Sacred is the workshop that I will be contributing to the collective and is an invitation to love your body AS IT IS through a ritual process of self anointing and radical self care.
So, to enter the Giveaway please leave me a comment below about your favorite practice of body-loving self care.
I will be drawing the name of the lucky person who gets to receive the free spot in this fabulous program on Friday, February 28th!!
Take s walk in nature! It’s the best self care for me :)
i practice radical self-care by making time for myself whether it’s to enter my studio and get messy making art, taking myself on a coffee/bookshop date, or simply soaking in the tub and aligning myself with inner thoughts, wishes, and desires in the stillness.
I make the most luxurious body cream from oil, cocoa butter, coconut oil, beeswax and rose water and I lovingly spread it all over my body every morning before I get out of the shower. <3
My favourite body-loving self care has got to be grooming and soothing my skin after bath or shower. It is most especially effective in calming and grounding me when I have the fortune of managing it on a sunny afternoon so I can stretch and bask in the sun on my bed while I apply body balm and ultimately, to top it off, fall gently asleep for a little catnap.
My fav body loving spirit loving self care is to get into creating. Surround myself with magazines, beautiful paper , glitter anything that sparkles, crayons, paints and dive in. No worries about making a mess or cleaning up. Enjoying every moment of my creative process…pretty or not! Then drawing a bath and soaking with essential oils after lighting a candle. Cheers <3
Body loving self care? Well my legs have never been slim, even when I weighed a lot less – I don’t have ankles! So last year I began loving them up big time. I began to moisturise them regular and take photos of them frequently. I shared the photos with a private FB group but the Universe decided to test me further – my laptop died and I lost all my pics and vids, so an IT guy got to see all my photos as he restored as many as he could of them. After an initial tummy turn, I relaxed, and realised I had practiced seeing me, and my legs, with unconditional love and kind eyes for long enough now, that I really didn’t give a hoot what he thought. I still honour them, regularly :o)
My body loving self care covers a broad SPECTRUM, from meditation to going to the gym. Love lotions and essential oils! Massage and Reiki! Eating organic and sometimes yummy sweet treats. My body also loves rest & relaxation!
Would love to go on this journey with you and all of these amazing gals! Thanks for the opportunity, Peace, Ronda.
Getting enough sleep and taking naps is #1.
Jodi
i like to make smoothies – one of my favorite healthy foods.
Meditation – the minute I smell the burning sage, or palo santo my body instinctively starts to relax.
Restorative yoga is my life right now!
The best radical self care ever is stopping and listening. I do a very challenging power yoga, and I have to not just wear a heart monitor when I do it, but be willing to stop and give my body healing time. I also believe in sleep. Lots of sleep. I try to always be sure I allow 8 hours of complete downtime. Even if I’m not sound asleep during that time, it is completely reserved for sleep and sleep alone. Nothing else.
Over the last six months I have making and consuming kefir and kombucha. Nothing more nourishing for the body than kefir and kombucha. It’s now become my addiction and probably the healthiest thing I can do for my body and for self care.
My favorite form of body-loving self care is dancing like no one is watching. Allowing myself to express myself with my body is such a release and helps me to be in my body and present.
My sanctuary, my salvation, my pleasure is to be immersed in a VitalDanza Vivencia (experience) dancing from the depth of each cell connecting deeply with myself, with those dancing with me and with all of life.
It may seem kind of simple and basic, but I drink lots of water and take the time to moisturize my entire body every day as soon as I get out of the shower! On my legs and lower half of my body, I use a good basic deep moisturizer, but on the upper part of my body I always use something yummy, fresh and earthy smelling like patchouli, Moroccan argon oil, ginger and lemongrass, something that I can smell throughout the day and I always take the time to massage it in to give myself a morning pick me up…
Thank you for the opportunity to win a spot in spectrum, Chris!!
I try to practice body loving self care. I try to eat right and make time for me.
I’m not always successful but I try and I’m still learning.
My favorite self-care is EFT, a little journaling, some girl-friend time, breathwork, walking & epson salt baths!
My form of body self care is yoga. It’s great for physical health, very relaxing, and at the same time can unlock emotions in a gentle way.
hmmmm. After digging deep and feeling that “favourite”, to me, might mean most challenging, I can give you only what I hope to be the most rewarding. With so many food allergies, wrinkles, sags and damage done after 50 years of working this machine hard, my body care list is full of all the go-to things. The only thing that I have yet to master is the emotional end. So, in front of the mirror every morning, I tell myself I love me, over and over, in hopes that the practice will become reality.
For me it starts with a commitment to getting enough sleep. If that doesn’t happen everything else goes out the window. And it usually means that I’ve ignored my own needs, and haven’t set good boundaries and expectations. Definitely not good self care!
I regularly get massages for self-care!
I didn’t used to want to be “in my body” so this practice is very new for me. I ask myself what I would like as I move through my day. And I listen. And I do that. It covers everything from food, to clothes to the people I choose to connect with to the ways I now explore creative expression. I am no longer on “auto pilot” or last on my own list. It is a practice of awareness and presence.
Music and painting.
For me it’s working out 6 days a week. The stronger I get, the better I feel physically and mentally and that translates into how I care for myself and my family. In the last 18 months, I’ve completely transformed my life through diet and exercise. I’ve lost 88 lbs and feel like a brand new person. I’m stronger, healthier, happier and have learned to love myself in the process and no longer have self-loathing behaviors and thoughts.
My favorite body-loving practice is walking outdoors in the acres of undeveloped woods and wetlands near my home. Walking clears my head, loosens my muscles, calms my nervous system, and opens my ears to those quiet, internal whispers . . .
I think my most nourishing ritual for my body, both physically and mentally, is to walk in nature, the forest, mountains, on a beach. It’s magic.
My favorite body-love self care is doing things that calms my body and soul. I take epsom salt baths, do yoga, give myself a pedicure, give and receive hugs from my family and friends. When I need to energize, then I dance. I know what I need to do, just need to remind myself to do more of it. Thanks for the offering!
My goodness! If you are reading through all these responses, you will be able to knock me over with a feather! But, the best self-care I can think of, and that I do on a regular basis, is to SMILE AT OTHERS!!! I SMILE at my husband! I SMILE on the phone! I SMILE at strangers! I SMILE in the mirror! I SMILE at the sun, and I SMILE at the squirrels who tussle with each other and the peanuts! I SMILE for my grandkids 1000 miles away! I SMILE at my newly conceived third grandchild. I SMILE when I think of my husband of 34 years who past away, and I SMILE at my new mother-in-law who, at 89, loves me and smiles back! OK, so let’s all SMILE!
