Hand and Beads

Reaching for the redwoods

Opening my heart in wordless prayer
Offering my heart in wordless devotion
Asking for the blessings of wood and evergreen needles and branches
To wash over and through me
To shower me with the ancient grounded teachings of how to best live in this world

With kindness
With wisdom
With reverence
With respect for each and all

Supplicating myself
Knees in the dirt
Petitioning these elder tree spirits to sanction me as a beaded turquoise conduit for love
For aching beauty
For compassionate grace
For endless mercy

For being a human worthy of honored kinship with the life that surrounds and holds me with such fierce and unbounded generosity and tireless love.
