Wed, 16 May 2012 15:09:54 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v= http://creativejuicesarts.com/blog/addicted-to-technique/comment-page-1/#comment-67 patti blakeman Wed, 20 Aug 2008 17:55:08 +0000 http://creativejuicesarts.com/cja/2008/08/19/addicted-to-technique-the-sad-and-sorry-tale-of-creativity-gone-wrong/#comment-67 reading the entry about technique rehab made me laugh. i have been teaching creativity classes for women and a class never goes by that someone doesnt say to me well i cant do that. someone always says well yes you can do that because you are creative, i am not creative. i am always amazed by that comment although i have probably heard it about a thousand times. i beleive with all of my being that everyone of us is creative. we are all created by a creator and there is no way that she said "well i'll give this one some, and that one some, however i wont give those people over there any creativity. i just dont beleive that is how it happens. when i told several friends that i had signed up for the painting at the ghost ranch conerence all of them said oh my god, you are going to be painting with other people. well i couldnt go to that because i cant paint, or i am not creative. wont you be anxious being with people that can paint? and i just laughed out loud. what matters to me at this point in my life is that i truly listen to the messages being sent from inside me to outside of me. i belive that whatever i paint, or write, or say, etc is my true soul painter or writer or speaker needing to be heard in some form or another.
